Since 1995 The Art Agency Foundation also known as Axum Art Café has long been a cornerstone of artistic and cultural expression in Sint Maarten. We have been at the heart of the island’s creative community, providing a space where visual artists, musicians, and writers can share their work and connect with audiences. Our commitment to the arts and cultural landscape of Sint Maarten remains steadfast - these gatherings have created an informal platform where emerging and established artists strive.

A key focus of our mission has been to create opportunities for amateur artists and cultural practitioners. At the heart of this work is the MeeMak Podia program, launched in 2023 with Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie and R4CR (Resources for community resilience). This program is designed to support the growth of amateur and emerging creatives by offering them a stage in Philipsburg. Participants, many of whom are entering the cultural field for the first time, receive hands-on guidance from professionals, allowing them to gain practical knowledge of the arts. Our combination of artistic and entrepreneurial education has laid the foundation for amateur talent to take the first real steps toward professional practice.
